Happy Smiling Boy!!
Hi Chris,
Hoping this message finds you and yours well. We have been meaning to get in touch with you for weeks now, and thought you might like a quick update on our boy Wyatt- who will be a year on 03/28/2012 (Gabby/Winston 2011 Litter).
The first thing that comes to mind is what a character he is! Everyone who gets to know him tells us this. He makes us laugh all the time with his silly, playful personality. He is so vocal too- something neither Tim nor I were used to with our goldens growing up. He groans so loud & long when we give him scratches - ears especially- he loves that. It’s a different kind of groan when he knows it’s time to clean his ears though! When we were training him he used to let out this hilarious grunt just before he conceded to obeying the command as if to say "fine, you win, I'll sit already"! He is also a surprisingly good watch dog and startles the living daylights out of us sometimes with his thundering bark. But we always praise him for keeping a good lookout.
As vocal as he is, he is such a sweet and gentle soul. He greets everyone- people and animals alike- with the same friendly hello. He sort of crouches down and crawls over to you which we always got a kick out of. It's especially nice when we encounter strangers who might otherwise be intimidated by a dog his size (he just hit 80lbs). So this is usually the second thing people comment on (after how beautiful he is). We could never train him to do something so inherently docile- he’s just naturally well-mannered & respectful. That’s my personal favorite part about him, and what has validated our decision to go with an Emanuel Homestead Golden Rretriever over anything else. Each time I say something to my husband about how snuggly and lovable he is, Tim reminds me that you told us a boy really would be. Even for his age he is every bit the calm and sweet- tempered dog you promised us. My favorite time with him is when he keeps me company when I cook dinner- he’s my faithful sous chef! I think Tim enjoys the quiet morning walks most with him. (Or maybe seeing his smiling face in the side mirror of the car, head out the window, ears flapping away). Wyatt's favorite time with us has got to be playing ball- he goes bananas whenever he sees that lacrosse stick and ball! This is the one time when there’s no such thing as “calm”. He’s hilarious.
One thing that bothers us though, is having to leave him alone during the day. We've spent the last 7-8 months taking turns coming home every day at lunchtime to let him out, and go for walks, or play ball. He seems to be fine now with bladder control, but we still like coming home to spend some extra time in with him. Maybe it's because I grew up with two goldens together, or maybe it’s because I'm an identical twin, but it doesn't seem fair that Wyatt doesn't have a buddy to pal around with. Which leads us back to you.
We would really love to come back to Woodstock and visit you again. Would it be ok with you if we brought Wyatt back to see his other family, and help us find another puppy to add to ours? Please let us know what the process is and if we can be considered for another puppy. We're hoping you'll want to you see for yourself just what a great dog Wyatt really is- fully trained, extremely well- behaved, happy, healthy, and secure. There really is no better reference than him, right?
We are looking forward to hearing from Wyatt's Emanuel Homestead family! How is everybody? Do you have any upcoming litters or plans to breed soon? We do follow the Facebook page and enjoy seeing you and all the other families share their stories and photos. Chris, we could never thank you enough for giving us our boy. We love him so much! We know he is just one of many special dogs that you have given a home to, but he means the world to us and we are so grateful to have him in our lives!

Hi Chris,
Just wanted to say hi and let you know how Spencer is doing. Well, of
course he is the best little guy in the world.
We decided to send him to doggie daycare, as we are both gone so much of
the day. I found a great place close to the library where I work. They are
thrilled to have a well behaved
adorable puppy; actually I think they should be paying me for the privilege
of spending time with him.
He has been to work with me a few times and everybody is begging me to
bring him back. He even made a guest appearance at our Job Group; which is
a weekly event for people looking
for work.....he sure did cheer up the group!
It took quite a while, but Darby is finally more accepting and they are
playing together both inside and outside. Spencer
of course worships Auntie Darby and follows him around and mimics his
every move. Darby is of course teaching good manners but has also showed
Spencer how to counter surf.....oh well.
He is enrolled in Puppy Kindergarten and we start next week. He already
has "sit" and presents it without being asked.
He also gives his paw before his meal. Quite the smart guy!
Most of all we just cannot believe what a mellow calm fellow he is; and
man does he love to snuggle.....so sweet. And the first snow, he charged
out without a qualm and buried his nose and
rolled around, and chased Darby around even though the
snow was higher than his "leg pits". He also loves the fire in the
fireplace after romping in the snow.
Anyway, we are totally in love and so glad we found you and him.

Hi Chris,
Merry Christmas and Happy New year. Sorry I did not get an e-mail to you before Christmas. Wanted you to know how much Wesley is loving life with our family! He has been the happy traveler. He went to the Amherst- Middlebury College swim meet and sat through watching Katherine swim the 1000 freestyle. He was the talk of the meet. So many people came over to us and said they never saw a more well behaved puppy . The next weekend he went to Vermont and loved all the hiking and loved the snow. He has such a loving personality, and is just so funny. We can't thank you enough for helping us with adding Wess to our family.He has been a joy to train , completely potty trained in 1 week. Walks off his leash at the farm every day and never runs off ALWAYS comes when called and sits. Friends can not believe how good he is. He plays so well with all dogs. He never chews anything in the house but toys. When he is told to sit and stay he will stay until he is told to come. He loves snuggle time in the early morning and at night. Katherine has had him in her lap every night We are heading to Vermont for the New Year and when we get home I will have my kids help me send you some pictures. Sure you can post the updates and I will get pictures to you too. Wess went to Watch Hill RI yesterday! He loved the beach, I also wanted to tell you he has a famous friend, Scout . Her Mom wrote the book Puppy Diaries, she works at the new York Times, they have a home in Madison and her Dad always takes her to the farm for walks. She is a English Retriever, and is very nice to Wess!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to let you know that Koda is fitting in wonderfully!! He's just the most lovable pup! All he wants is to be loved. He doesn't leave my side.. Ever ! It's adorable! Sleeps right next to me at night... Sleeps all night... Goes 6-7 hrs during the day no problem (had my neighbor come over for the first week during the day to see him). He's been trained to only pee and poop in the woods which is fantastic :). Just wanted to say thank you and commend you on his fantastic demeanor.

Thank you so much for making these difficult times special.
The puppy is absolutely gorgeous. The moment I laid eyes on him, I knew he was special.
Crash! was curious and Sydney seems to be exhibiting maternal behavior. When Thais took him outside, Sydney kept patrolling him on the leaf covered slope. When the puppy started struggling in the deep leaves (not really deep), Sydney "nosed" him back to the lawn.
I took Crash! for a long walk today. Crash! did what he's always done (and continues to do) best, that is, make people smile. Little kids and elderly people all stopped to pet him and hug him.
Again, thank you for all your efforts on behalf of me and my family.
We'll keep you posted on puppy developments, name, pictures, and all the good stuff that goes with having an Emanuel Homestead puppy.

Honestly, his face was so expressive, he could nod his head, raise an eyebrow, and he and I could communicate perfectly! People everywhere would comment on how handsome he was and what a personality/temperament he had!

Chris,
My husband and step-son came to you many years ago to adopt Jack. He was born March 29, 1998. Unfortunately, we had to put him down Saturday, September 17, 2011. My husband Michael believes that Jeremiah was his father. After looking at your site, there’s no doubting the resemblance! However, he cannot remember Jack’s Mothers name.
Jack truly was the best dog ever. He truly loved us, and we, loved him. When our daughter was born, he would stay by my side for a rub while the baby was rocked. When she was teething, he was the only thing that calmed her down. One time my husband left the cellar door open, and I came into the kitchen to see my daughter at the top of the stairs, but, Jack was in front of her blocking her from falling. He had high praise and an extra rawhide chip for that! He would let her climb all over him, stick her hands in his mouth, tug his ear. You name it, he tolerated it. We never once had to worry that he would snap. His temperament was amazing! He would do anything for us. He was very protective of me and my daughter.
We just wanted to Thank You for such an amazing dog! Once our hearts have healed, we will be returning to you for a new addition to our family!

I just wanted to give you a "Jeter" update. He is the most loving, happy, well behaved, beautiful dog! We just can't get over how smart he is and how quickly he learns. He just loves to be with us and he is like my shadow...which I love. We can't compliment you enough on the breeding of these gorgeous dogs. He loves people, pets and has brought so much joy to our household. Kellie actually "hopped" around outside in a playing stance we haven't seen since we lost Samantha. She likes him around, you can tell, and he seems to know she's an old girl and not to get too rough.
We wish we could have taken a few more!!! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for caring and loving your animals soooo much. It definitely shows. Please enjoy some of the pictures. Their will be more coming!!!!

Hi Chris,
Today we joyfully celebrated Duncan's first birthday! Coming from the Teddy and Lacy liter we knew he would be a sweet pup but we are truly amazed by how loving he is to the whole family and anyone he meets. He still has quite a bit of youthful puppy energy and there are some cute habits he will probably never grow out of - for instance, when we sit on the floor he likes to sit in your lap (which is really quite an amusing sight as he is now up to 75 lbs!) and we can't have a family hug without him joining the group. He absolutely loved the snow this past winter and delights in taking walks through the woods. Attached is a picture from his first day at our home and another taken this spring. He has such an incredible smile it always warms to the heart. We are so happy to have him as part of our family.

Hope everything is well with you and your family. Its Abby’s and Runner’s first Birthday today! They have grown up so much in just a year. They are truly beautiful! (See picture attached). Runner loves to fetch balls all the time. Abby will help him when he misses any; he does retrieve two balls at once and returns them right into our hands. Some of our friends call Abby the "Princess" because she is so pretty and proper. So far this summer we’ve taken them camping up in the White Mountains and swimming in the ocean, rivers, and lakes. Soon we are headed back north for more adventures. Abby and Runner are loved every day in many ways.

I just wanted to pass along a note to say that Sophie and Winston have been an extremely joyful addition to our home. They have settled right in and are learning remarkably fast. This is my first experience having a Golden puppy, or should I say puppies
and it has been heart melting and such an amazing experience for me. They love their older brother Bettis and even have a blast picking on Moose (the Chihuahua) LOLI have attached a couple of pictures for you as the babies are growing so fast!

EMANUEL HOMESTEAD GOLDEN'S stunning coat coloring
can range from light white/cream, to pale gold. Deeper
tones are also available. Their distinctive coat texture is just beautiful, with longer feathering on their chest,
legs & hind quarters. Grooming is a "snap!"
The body stature of both genders is usually
solid & compact. My GOLDEN'S - distinguishing square
head, eyes & jaw shape frame their endearing countenance
of facial expressions which top off their overall
extremely inviting & attractive appearance.
